Mountain Goat Captures and collaring in the Uinta Mountains.
Mountain Goats will be tested and GPS collared. This will help us to better understand the habitat use, seasonal movements, and survival characteristics of mountain goat herds. In return we will be able to have more and healthier mountain goats.
Rabbit Gulch WMA Fencing Improvements.
Rabbit Gulch is bordered by multiple subdivided sections of mini-ranches, oil well pads, and various other private properties. The existing fence around much of the WMA border is a T-post and barbed wire fence. Making it easy to cut and allow illegal access.
The Duchess County Surveyor will perform the boundary survey, mark the border and section corners. A contractor will be hired to remove the existing non-functional fence and replace it with a drill pipe/succor rod type fence.
Bighorn sheep captures and collaring in the Uinta Mountains, Willow Creek/Bookcliffs and Flaming Gorge.
Sheep will be disease tested and GPS collared. This will help us to better understand survival, distribution, and movements of each herd. UDWR will use this information to refine estimates of population size.
West Side of Flaming Gorge Reservoir Project.
The objective of this project is to maintain bighorn sheep, mule deer, elk and pronghorn habitat values and also reduce hazardous fuels accumulation across 2,047 acres. And survey for cultural resources on 2,300 acres as part of a larger multi-phased project.
Bennion Park Lop and Scatter Project.
To improve 347 acres of mountain meadows that have been experiencing encroachment by conifers and Improve wildlife habitat in these mountain meadows.
Nash Wash Horse Pasture Fence Upgrade.
A fence constructed in 1939 is aging and in dire need of replacement. Located around the Horse Pasture of the Cisco allotment, management by the DWR.
